Better alternative to windows copy task – TeraCopy; Pause/resume, CRC check, full control of Copy/Move files

Windows built in file copy process is fine if you have a small number of files. However many are not happy with it because it is not so good when you are copying a huge sized file or huge number of files whether it is a local disk or a network location. The process often abrupt when there is some error during the copy of a middle file and you don’t know where to start the copy process if your source files are not in a particular order. Moreover the copy/move speed is so pathetic. I frequently download movies and software to my local drive and i do have to copy them to my backup location frequently. I was searching for a good tool for this and found TeraCopy. If you want to speed up your copying or if you regularly transfer large amounts of data and have to stop the process to perform some other disk-intensive task, this program may be just what you need.

TeraCopy is a freeware designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed. It skips bad files during the copying process, and then displays them at the end of the transfer so that you can see which ones need attention. TeraCopy can automatically check the copied files for errors by calculating their CRC checksum values. It also provides a lot more information about the files being copied than its Windows counterpart. TeraCopy integrates with Windows Explorer’s right-click menu and can be set as the default copy handler.
