I occasionally give presentations to my team and some times i schedule torrents or download huge files through Download Managers just before going to take couple of hours break. My computer is having optimal power settings and i am very happy about those settings in normal scenarios, but it is so annoying in the above explained cases. I don’t want to change and revert the power settings which is a very cumbersome process.
Don’t Sleep is a simple, tiny, portable, freeware tool that will prevent your system from shutdown, standby, hibernate, turn off and restart. It also prevents logoff the computer, and the deactivation of the monitor or activation of the screen saver. Don’t Sleep has a timer that allows time control unblock, or shutdown the computer for a specified time. This tool is particularly useful in the occasions where you are very happy with your current power settings but want an occasional relaxation. Without this tool you have to manually disable all the options and then activate again, but this isn’t always convenient. With Don’t Sleep one can apply the exclusions with just one or two mouse clicks, whenever they require. Most of the time you might be happy to have your system shut down after it’s been idle for 5 minutes, say.
Just run Don’t Sleep, when you need to be sure that your PC should stay on. The program will automatically prevent your PC from going into standby, hibernation, shutting down, launching the screensaver and more. You can also set the program to work for only a given period of time, maybe because it’s downloading a file or doing something important, then simply set your return time, check “Use Timer” and you’re ready to go, the system will stay running until you get back from your break.
