It is a good idea to remove software that is no longer in use on your computer. Usually any good software vendor provides a complete un-installer program along with your favorite software, but that is not happening in reality. There are so many reasons why vendors leave some files and registry entries while uninstalling, one such reason is to identify trail version users. The windows built in Add/Remove applet doesn’t work well with the un-installation and unfortunately it leaves so many registry entries and files on your computer’s hard drive after the un-installation.

Revo Uninstaller‘ is a free and better alternative to windows built in uninstaller and also a ‘true uninstaller’ tool that works more uniquely and perfectly. The Uninstaller tool lists the installed programs and components for all and current user. By selecting the context menu of a program you can see its properties, their registry entries and links to manufacturer’s web site, etc. The “Search” option finds installed applications just by typing the first few letters of their name. Revo Uninstaller scans for leftovers with even more advanced algorithms that are so precise, fast and very effective in search for leftovers of Windows Services, Drivers, File associations, Shell Extensions, COM components, Windows Installer components, program settings and more!

Revo Uninstaller Modes

While un-installing you better select the Advanced mode for best results. This mode rescans your file system for the leftover tracks of that software. Make sure that you select all the leftover items by clicking on “Select All” button and then click “Delete”. Many users usually will do a mistake by just click on the Next button without deleting the leftover entries manually.

The best thing of this tool is that it will create a restore point before making any changes to your system. Of course, you can disable this behavior if you don’t like this feature by deselecting the check box in Options –> Uninstaller –> ‘Make a system restore point before uninstalling’

Hunter Mode: This mode makes the tool accessible all times in a small, always visible icon. This is a special, innovative feature of Revo uninstaller which indeed has two sub modes – Hunter mode and Drag and drop mode. This mode is giving you a flexibility to uninstall applications with one click (stop or delete) by simply dragging and dropping program icons to the Hunter icon or by dragging the Hunter window, with the mouse cursor, over desktop icons, quick launch toolbar, in the system tray or to the open program’s window.
